"Blwyddyn Newydd Dda"
This season we witness the real emergence of some fine new talent – some of the best that British Menswear has seen in some time – along with labels which continue to push their boundaries. Denim which is unparalleled & a label with takes the heritage, authentic carcass, boils it into stock to create something new and fresh with a nod to the past.
Martine Rose & Matthew Miller took part in this season’s MAN show during London fashion week. Their inclusion in that and on our site is something I take great pride in. I passionately believe that the UK is now showing the world that the undoubted talent we have now creates pieces which are the equal quality of anything presently.
Tender Denim is the perfect example of this. William Kroll’s work is inventive and interesting without being overstated. His attention to detail is far beyond anything I and many other denim heads have come across. This is proper ‘workwear' – apologies - 'clothing fit for any purpose'. I intend fully to wear mine into the ground.
Mors Footwear takes the idea of a British based trainer label and twists it. The materials are highly luxurious. That’s a given. But, never flash. This is stealth sportswear. Leave a trail of admirers in your wake not haters.
One Nine Zero Six is the culmination of Gymphlex’s over 100 year history. Real heritage that. Don’t worry it won’t compel you to climb a mountain or go rambling, man; leave that to Laura Marling. What it will provide you with is great, well made kit. Fabrics are frankly worthy of obsession and cut with precision. ‘Must have’ doesn't begin to cover it.
Finally, we just had to bring you some more Passarella Death Squad.
